To understand if a company is the right place to grow and thrive, prospective employees are wisely seeking to understand what life is like inside a company.

To paint a picture of life at Boston Scientific three of our employees have recorded a ‘sneak peek’ video on how they work to advance science for life in their daily jobs.

“Thinking that someone out there could watch my video, be inspired, and feel Boston Scientific could be the right place to build their careers is something I am proud of” comments Lisa on showcasing her working experience and why it matters to her. “They could be the next person I will hire in the team”.

Empowering people for a more inclusive workplace

Lisa Weinrank, account manager, Marie Bellot, field clinical specialist and Monica Nogue, EMEA graduate.

Lisa, Marie and Monica won a video competition which encouraged employees to record short videos about a typical day in their life at Boston Scientific. In particular, the aim was to showcase what makes their jobs special and how they help serve patients and healthcare professionals every day in the field or in the office.

The competition was promoted by one of our employee-led, company-sponsored employee resource groups, the Young Professionals Network. Boston Scientific ERGs foster thriving communities to help employees connect and succeed.

Employees take centre stage: a day in the life campaign

As winners of the competition, Lisa, Marie and Monica had the opportunity to take centre stage in our ‘A day in the life’ campaign, which followed a typical day in their working week:

Lisa, as a salesperson, meets with healthcare professionals, showing them our portfolio of innovative products and solutions, explaining the difference they can make to patients’ lives. She explains how building strong relationships with physicians each day is rewarding: “In my job, it is key to build a strong partnership with physicians,” said Lisa. “By demonstrating reliability and persevering, trust is created, and business goals are met”.

Monica works at the cutting edge of remote technologies, ensuring that healthcare professionals can remain connected to clinical and technical support that assists them to deliver care to patients. “Each day has something different in store for me and this allows me to grow and expand my knowledge” says Monica. “I am thankful for this given I am at the start of my career and have lots to learn”.

Marie is a biomedical engineer who supports practitioners and patients who are implanted with a Boston Scientific device for spinal cord stimulation. She says that meeting patients is one of the things she particularly enjoys about her job. “Being in contact with patients is one of the best parts of my day. I get to know and empathise with their stories, their feelings, and their pain,” said Marie. “It’s truly wonderful to see their health improve thanks to our technologies and the added value I bring with my technical skills”.

“We believe in the talent of our diverse employees and will tirelessly work to foster a culture where valuing diverse perspectives is top of mind, helping us think differently to continue to solve healthcare’s toughest problems” said Ana Somolinos DE&I lead EMEA at Boston Scientific. “As part of the journey toward a more inclusive workplace, our DE&I efforts have also been recognised by the Financial Times Diversity Leaders Index 2023 recently, where we ranked #3 in the Health Care Equipment and Services sector. A recognition we are proud of and that shows we are advancing in the right direction”.

The campaign is featuring on the company’s social media channels throughout 2023:
